Contribution of reformers during the Russian Revolution and Nationalism in India.

The Russian revolution had a great impact in not only Europe but also in the world and India, indeed . The ideas of people's rule from French Revolution were shaped into Socialism in Russia. Liberals , Radicals and Conservatives had differing ideas about shaping the world . With Industrialisation men, women and children were brought to Factories . But the long working hours and low income didn't do much better to their lives . This is where the ideas of SOCIALISM came to life.

This shaped the thinking of many great Indian Leaders . One of them being Rabindra Nath Tagore.

He visited Moscow , Russia in 1930 and wrote from there :

Moscow appears much less clean than the other European capitals . None of those hurrying along the streets look smart. The whole place to the workers ......... Here the masses have not in the least been put in the background for ages have come forward in the open today ...............I thought of the peasants and workers in my own country . It all seemed like the work of the Genii in the Arabian Nights . [here] only a decade ago they were as illiterate , helpless and hungry as our own masses ,,, Who could be more astonished than an unfortunate Indian like myself to se how they had removed the mountains of Ignorance and helplessness in these few years .

“You can’t imagine how long I have wanted to come to your country, which I love for its literature. And now that your people have become completely new and different compared to how they used to be, as my friends tell me, I am even more eager to come there. I want to get to know your music, your theatre, your dances and become acquainted with your literature,” Tagore said during the meeting.

All this shaped his ideas for Nationalism in India.
